Each year the Wichita Falls Chamber hosts the Economic Forum which focuses on a key piece of our economy and this year is no different. 2021 has brought many changes to our community including a very big change for Midwestern State University.
As of September 1st of this year, MSU Texas officially became the fifth member institute of the Texas Tech University System. Since Dr. Tedd L. Mitchell was instrumental in securing the partnership with MSU Texas, your Chamber felt he was the most appropriate candidate for your 2021 Economic Forum.
As chancellor, Dr. Tedd L. Mitchell is the CEO of a $2.5 billion, five-university higher education enterprise consisting of Texas Tech University, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Angelo State University, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso, and now Midwestern State University. Collectively, the TTU System enrolls more than 63,000 students, has an endowment valued at more than $1.3 billion, and operates at 23 academic locations in 20 cities (18 in Texas, 2 internationally).
But what does this mean for MSU Texas and our community?
Join us on December 9th to learn more about the future of this campus that has been a part of our community since 1922.
